Smart Farm Management: Monitoring, Mapping and Development of Agricultural Farms
As global population growth continues to strain agricultural resources and climate change poses new challenges to food production, the adoption of smart farming practices has emerged as a critical solution. Smart farming, characterized by the integration of advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), automation, Remote Sensing/GIS and data analytics into agricultural processes, offers the promise of increased productivity, resource efficiency and sustainability. Thus smart farming is about using the new technologies in the areas of agriculture to increase production quantity and quality, by making maximum use of resources and minimizing the environmental impact.
This tool/DSS aims to help farmers/stakeholders make data-driven decisions and delves into the world of smart farming, providing a comprehensive overview of real-world application. Drawing upon a thorough literature review and case studies, it examines how precision agriculture, GIS-driven analytics and digitalization technologies have transformed traditional farming methods. Through this technology, stakeholder/farmers can monitor their crop in real time and from time to time suitable advisories/alerts are provided to farmers based on the type of crop sown, for better monitoring and enabling precise decision-making and resource allocation.
